How Pampered Paws of Louisiana Grooming salon division operates:
Clients are urged to call ahead and reserve a spot for the day they wish to have their pet groomed. Those spots are reserved until 9:00am Monday through Friday. Should a client be running late, he or she is strongly urged to call and let us know. Our grooming salon is endorsed by many local veterinarians and relied upon by many other local grooming salons and shops to handle their overloads and many new clients call during the day for grooming spots. Should a reserved client not show or call by 9:00am, their spot MAY be given up to a call-in or walk-in. With an 18 year experienced stylist and a full time groomer, many times clients can be serviced the same day they call. We strive to be as flexible as we possibly can in making sure each client, both established and new, who calls upon us for service is seen on whichever day is comfortable for them and their pets. Grooming starts at 7:00am Monday through Friday. We do not have a set closing time; we keep our salon open until each and every pet is groomed and each and every owner is happy.
We urge each client to arrive at our salon confident that we will do what it takes to make sure each groom ordered is satisfactory and to specifications. A picture of non-conventional styles brought in will aid our groomer and stylist in finding the style perfect for you and your pet. Our staff is highly knowledgeable and has been trained to spend the time it takes with each individual client to ensure satisfaction. With over 2500 active, regular clients and an over 85% return rate, we believe customer service is a high priority. How Pampered Paws Pet-Sitting Works:
Pampered Paws developed our pet-sitting program in 2001 with the intention of providing your pets a “home-away-from-home” environment – a sort of vacation of their own. We could never grasp the concept of leaving a pet in a cage overnight with no supervision, so we opened our home as a bed and breakfast for pets and like to think of them as visitors in our home, rather than boarders. Consider us that “friend” with whom you like to leave your pet when you leave home.
While in the care of Pampered Paws Pet-Sitting, your pet will travel home with us and will experience all the luxury of home while you are away. Our address and pictures will be given upon request, however, because this is our home, we do ask that clients respect our privacy by not “dropping by”. We provide 5 phone numbers and encourage you to call whenever you feel the need to put your mind at ease.
We like to think of our pet-sitting program as exclusive and want your pet to feel as if he or she is an important member of our family. Availability reflects that bookings are as limited as our screening process, therefore fees are not pro-rated. Fees are charged on a daily rate, not nightly.- regardless of pick-up and drop-off times. At times, we may ask for payment in advance for the entire amount and there are no refunds for early pickup.
Should an emergency occur, and/or, in the unlikely event that your pet does not “fit in” to our pet-sitting program for any reason, you agree to allow us to have your pet boarded at Happy Tails Country Cottages or at your preferred veterinarian’s facility at that facility’s prices. Should this happen, you will be notified by phone at the number you provide at drop off.
Schedule and Fees
· Pets are to be dropped off and picked up at the Pampered Paws grooming facility.
· We charge by the day, not by the night, $14.00 per day – regardless of pick-up and drop-off times.
· There are no Sunday drop offs or pick ups.
· Fees for pets requiring special attention, including but not limited to, administering medication, special care, etc will be $1.00 extra per day.
· Fees during holiday times WILL be higher.
· Grooming is available during your pet’s stay upon request to be performed on a regular business day; however, this is still considered a pet-sitting day and sitting fees will be charged.
What to Bring
We encourage you to bring whatever you feel will make your pet feel more at home – his or her own bed, bowls, toys, a t-shirt worn by a family member and not yet washed will let your pet know you are not gone forever and will return. Please place these items together in a labeled with your pet’s name and instructions in a container or bag. HOWEVER, We are not responsible for lost, misplaced, or destroyed items. When some pets are out of their element, even though they are surrounded by familiar items, they may rebel by chewing their things, digging holes, trying to bolt away, etc. Due to the nature of animals, we cannot be responsible for these types of behavior.
We proudly feed Nutro Natural Choice and Nutro Ultra pet foods and encourage you to do the same. However, if your pet is on a special diet, please note on the pet’s personal file and provide that food, labeled, at time of drop off.
We encourage you to leave any valuables at home, especially leashes and expensive collars and jewelry. We are not responsible for lost, missing and/or chewed items. Rest assured, your pet is not left for hours, unattended in a cage, however, since this is our home and your pet’s safety is our first and foremost concern, he/she will be contained should the need arise to leave him or her alone at home.
Pampered Paws’ Pet-Sitting Program has proven to be the safest, friendliest and absolute best way to ensure your pet is cared for in the most humane way possible during your time away from home. We have several return clients who stay with us several times a year – sometimes for just over-night and sometimes for months at a time. We have tailored this program to fit almost any pet-sitting need.

UPDATE – June 1, 2006
During the hurricane season, June 1 to November 30, should a hurricane enter the Gulf of Mexico and threaten South Louisiana – you will be notified by a member of our staff and will be required to have your pet picked up within 24 hours of that notification. New Governor’s evacuation orders have forced grooming facilities who provide boarding to have an evacuation plan in place. Due to the events of the 2005 Hurricane season, we at Pampered Paws believe your pet and your family will be more comfortable and safe if you were all together. Please keep this notice in mind and have an alternate plan as we cannot distribute pets to individual veterinarian’s offices and other boarding facilities during evacuation times – usually those facilities and offices fill quickly and we have our own family and pets to attend to. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Should you choose to not cooperate and leave your pet for Pampered Paws to handle during an emergency time, your boarding rate will increase to $50.00 per day payable in cash before pick up.
